Viv Chargualaf knows exactly what she wants out of life and is willing to spend the rest of her days doing it.

“When you find your niche in life, you become so fascinated you have to follow your dreams. Art is my main thing. Different things guide me, but I always follow my heart. I know what I want. I think I am one of the lucky ones.”

Viv’s casual, easygoing demeanor camouflages a wealth of artistic talent. Although she has worked with oil, watercolors & printmaking, lately she has become more involved with pottery and clay.

“I’m an artist. I like a lot of textures of nature, objects I’ve found in nature. I want to define my life in my pieces. I reflect this by using natural things in my abstracts. I find abstracts so fascinating; I find them intense. If I could do three-dimensional paintings, I probably would.” “When People look at life they see reality, but if you can distort that, you make people appreciate it a little more. I want to see everything in abstract; I want to make it a little different. I take real objects and subject matter and take them apart. It’s like a puzzle; I try to solve. My mind, like a TV screen, projects what I envision and then I transfer them to my paintings or pottery.” “Every time I look at a painting, I see something different. The way each piece turns out depends on my mood at the time I did that piece. Art is a re-birth. Doing it is like learning a new language. My philosophy is my work.”
